Promoting Well-being for All
Every year on October 10th, the world comes together to recognize World Mental Health Day — a day dedicated to raising awareness and encouraging open conversations about mental well-being. It is a reminder that mental health matters just as much as physical health and that support, understanding, and compassion can make all the difference.
According to Aware, one of Ireland’s leading charities supporting people affected by anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and related mood conditions:
- 3 in 5 people report experiencing symptoms of depression.
- 4 in 5 people report having experienced anxiety.
These statistics highlight the reality that mental health challenges are common, affecting people across all walks of life. However, the data also shows that young adults under 25 and those living with chronic health conditions are among the most significantly impacted groups.
